Vision Long Island is holding its third and final public meeting tonight at The Southampton Town Hall between 7-9 tonight March 6th. The non-profit organization, dedicated to building a sustainable future for Long Island, is gathering public opinion as it puts together its plans for a greener, healthier Long Island.
From energy policy, to transportation, housing, water management and land use, the organization assembled a large list of initiatives for the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority (NYSERDA) to consider as it reviews applications for grants to support sustainability projects. Over the next three years, New York State will issue $90 million in local grants for projects that can make our communities more green and sustainable. In the wake of Sandy, Long Island should be a major recipient of these funds.
