GivingTuesday is a very simple idea – a day that encourages people to pause for a moment, reflect on what’s important to them & simply do good. It is now a global movement and your chance to help the Great South Bay.
Save The Great South Bay is a 501(c)3 environmental non-profit whose program are helping to restore the Great South Bay to a clean and healthy state. Will you help us do good in 2021 by donating to our organization today?
Here are just some of our projects to protect and preserve the Great South Bay:
Working together with municipalities, local organizations, schools, elected officials and others we patrol, identify areas in need, and clean up along the 50 creeks and rivers leading into the Great South Bay, ensuring healthier waters enter the Bay.
Great South Bay Oyster Project
Our GSB Oyster Project will restore the oyster habitat to the Great South Bay promoting local aquaculture and a natural filtration system that will help keep the Bay clean. Our goal is to plant 100 million oysters over the next five years.
Bay Friendly Habitat Restoration
We promote native habitat restoration through planting of native species, stormwater management and the utilization of eco-friendly maintenance techniques with the end goal of improving the quality of water that enters the Bay. Every patch of restored habitat becomes a stepping stone for our local pollinators.
Donations can be made via check payable to Save The Great South Bay, Inc. and mailed to PO Box 373, Babylon, NY 11702 or directly on our website at www.savethegreatsouthbay.org.
