About a month back, I wrote this piece for The Huffington Post. For all those new to Save The Great South Bay or who haven’t read it, I recommend you give it a read. Here is one way you can really help the cause: By being a good photographer and videographer. Get to know your phone and how to edit and post images and video. If people see it, they will want to save it. STGSB has several photographers among its directorate, and that is no accident. Michael Busch, Founder of Great South Bay Images and most recently Greater Fireisland, Artie Kopelman, President of CRESLI (The Coastal Research and Education of Society — Whales, Seals, Dolphins, Turtles, Sea Birds), and Stephen Borghardt, who, like Mike and Artie, contributes to the Facebook Page Long Island Wildlife Photography. That is no accident. Here is how we give nature a voice, how we express our admiration for it by trying to capture its beauty, and with that seek to preserve it. Share what you are seeing with others. In this regard, there is no more generous person than Asia Lee, who has a photographic eye that is unsurpassed, especially when it comes to Long Island and its waters.
