Blue Point Oysters are so good, New York decreed no oysters outside the Great South Bay could use the name. Even Queen Victoria agreed, insisting that only Blue Points be served at Buckingham Palace.
Join Save the Great South Bay on Friday, May 10th, from 4:30-6:00pm at the View in Oakdale for our Oyster Shindig to celebrate Blue Point Oysters and more! We’ll be proudly joined by some of the working entrepreneurs who make it happen, the Long Island Oyster Growers (Meet The Farmers — LIOGA (liogany.org)). The oyster business is now booming thanks to their hard work!
For $50, revelers will enjoy a raw bar, cold beer and champagne all while supporting our work to restore the Great South Bay, a bay we all know and love.
