Congressman Lee Zeldin has called for a series of public meetings on FIMP — The Fire Island to Montauk Plan. The first public meeting is for the Babylon and Islip area. This will be at The Islip Town Hall Annex.
The Congressman has been very active in securing funding for The Army Corps of Engineers — to the tune of $1.16 Billion dollars.
How will this money be spent? THEY WANT TO CLOSE THE BREACH. Make no mistake about that. Further, $1.16 billion can ruin a lot of shore line. The Corps has already proven that. Hermine showed just how futilely they spent all that Sandy money. Now they want to double down. Please share with friends and neighbors. Let’s fill the room.
Zeldin is promoting the new, revised FIMP as ‘economic stimulus.’ Let’s call it for what it is — a destructive boondoggle that proves the Corps has learned nothing Post Sandy.
