Water Matters, Episode Three: Dick Amper, Executive Director, The Pine Barrens Society

February 5, 2016 @ 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm

Please tune in this Friday for another episode of Water Matters.    For Episode 3, our guest will be Richard Amper of The Pine Barrens Society.

Long Islanders owe Dick and his organization a tremendous debt for saving this primeval expanse of pine forest from development for us and for future generations.    See what natural beauty has been preserved for us, and understand how important this area is for the health of our drinking water, and for our ponds, rivers, streams and bays on The East End.

Keep in mind: this program and the two previous episodes — Prof Chris Gobler, Prof. Sarah Meyland — are viewable at any time along with their slide presentations.   We are building a library of videos and presentations to educate our young people and all Long Islanders as to the water quality challenges we face on Long Island and how we can together meet those challenges so that we can build a sustainable Long Island, a legacy for those who will come after us.

We will also have a very special guest for our “Soap Box” segment!
