Here is just a short list of articles on coastal flooding and erosion in the Northeast.   While local politicians and some shoreline residents point at a breach at The Old Inlet as the source of their flooding woes, a much larger picture, as large as climate change itself is starting to emerge.   With all that is happening, we need a federal plan to address a slow motion regional disaster now.

Please add your own links to other coastal flooding stories from this winter.   We are seeing coastal flooding and beach erosion literally from Florida to Maine.    Those calling for a closure of the breach at The Old Inlet on Fire Island, believing that it is the source of their continued flooding woes need to compare notes.  The evidence, the data does not at all support the notion that the breach is contributing to the flooding?  But the flooding itself?  It is everywhere, therefore a federal response is necessary.    Governor Cuomo’s call for $400 mil to raise homes and buy out flooded owners must become law, for starters.
